Professional Development Workshops for Performing Artists

Lane Arts Council, in partnership with the City of Eugene Cultural Services Division, University of Oregon School of Music and Dance, and Community Center for the Performing Arts/WOW Hall is excited to announce the 2017 Spring Workshop Series for Performing Artists. Lane Arts Council’s professional development workshop series is offered each quarter, but this will be the first to address relevant, timely topics designed specifically for performing artists.

Workshop on Sustainable Building Practices - Taos, New Mexico

Earth and Sun Sustainable Builders will be hosting a workshop on sustainable building practices May 30 through September 29, near Taos, New Mexico. We would welcome your students or employees to participate in a hands-on earth bag building project, for 2-weeks to four months. They will be guided from thought form through finished building — literally from the ground up with earth bag walls, conventional metal roof, photovoltaics, and passive solar design. Women and men with varied skills are welcome.

As ideas and objects are shifted by human forces, their movements generate unforeseen impacts and leave vulnerable spaces behind. We are dependent and culpable actors in this system and must reevaluate our resistance and ability to adapt to social, environmental and economic displacement.
